Tour Description

Overview

Ladakh is one of the most beautiful region of Jammu & Kashmir, which is known as The Land of Mountain Passes. It is the home of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, high passes, sand dunes, little hamlets and beautiful lakes.

We are pleased to offer ‘Panoramic Ladakh Tour’ which give you chance to explore the culture, tradition along with the old Gompas and the stunning locations of the tinny hilly remote villages surrounded by snow-capped mountains of the great Himalaya’s and Karakoram. The duration of the tour is 10 nights and 11 days, covers Keylong, Sarchu, Leh, Nubra, Lamayuru and Kargil.

Itinerary

Day 1: Manali - Keylong (By Road-117 kms) Sightseeing

On arrival at Manali, proceed to Keylong crossing the Rohtang Pass , located at the height of 3978 meters above sea level and situated in the eastern hills of the Pir Panjal Range and lies with banks of Beas and Chenab River.Later, drive through Marhi, Koksar, Sissu and Tandi villages. Keylong is a popular stopover on the Manali- Ladakh road, which is located at the distance of 117 kilometers from Manali. It is a quit town. On reaching Keylong visit the Keylong bustling village to explore the culture and tradition of the villagers from close quarters and the Khardhug monastery.  On arriving in Keylong, Check-in at your hotel. Relax for a while, then proceed to explore Keylong town including Guru Ghantal Gompa, Shashur Monastery, Gemur Monastery etc. Stay overnight.

Day 2: Keylong – Sarchu (By Road-106 kms)

After early breakfast, dive to Sarchu, crossing Bara-lacha pass located at the height of 4890 meters. On the way get amazing views of the surrounding along with the snowcapped Himalayas. Once you reach Sarchu, check-in at Camp. Rest day free at leisure just explore the surroundings on foot, admire the stunning location, indulge in activities of your interest etc. This area is quite popular amongst trekking enthusiasts because of its rugged terrain. Return to the Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Sarchu – Leh (By Road-251 kms)

After early breakfast, dive to Leh through Taglang La located at the height of 5328 meters. Cross the picturesque plains of Moree. After arriving in Leh, complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. The evening is free at leisure, you can roam around the city center and visit the local market. Stay overnight.

Day 4: Leh Sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel, morning is free at leisure. In the afternoon, proceed for sightseeing visiting the Shanti Stupa – Santi stupa is located from 5 kilometres away from the Leh, it was constructed by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura in 1991 and it was inaugurated by the 14th Dalai Lama. You can reach this place by driving or by climbing 500 steps from Leh city. Later visit Sankar Monastery, home to around 20 monks. Explore the ruins of Leh Palace – the former residence of the royal family, built during the 17th century. The evening is for exploring the local market. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5: Leh - Nubra Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed to Nubra Valley which is located at the distance of 115 kilometer via the famous Khardongla Pass, which is the highest motorable road in the world, placed at an altitude of 18360 feet. Enjoy the stunning views. The Valley is also called the Valley of the flowers, which contained the vibrant, colourful and the most beautiful flowers set amidst lush green landscape. It is also one of the most famous attraction of the Leh Ladakh.

Upon arrival check in to the hotel. After freshen up, Afternoon is scheduled for a visit to Hundur and Diskit monasteries, placed at a small distance from each other. Both are popular Buddhist monasteries of Nubra. Next visit is to the white sand dunes where you partake in Camel Safari on double-humped camels, found only in Nubra. Back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Nubra - Leh

Today after early breakfast, return to Leh via Khardung La. The evening is explore the local markets of Leh, where you can get your hands on some authentic items of Ladakh region along with Kashmir such as wood carvings, Pashmina shawls, Masks, pearls, handicrafts and more. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 7: Leh Sightseeing

Post breakfast, proceed for excursions to Phyang and Spituk Monasteries. Phyang is a Buddhist monastery housing a 900-yr old museum. Spituk is a Buddhist monastery which is home to around 100 monks and also houses a huge statue of Goddess Kali. Post lunch, visit the Hall of Fame- a museum built by the Indian army in the memory of soldiers who died in the Indo-Pak wars. The other visits are the Tibetan Handicrafts Center and the market of Leh. Stay overnight.

Day 8: Leh - Pangong

Today post breakfast, drive to Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso. Pangong Tso is located at the height of 4350 meters approximately from the sea level which extends from India to Tibet. It is about 150 kilometres from Leh. About 60% length of the lake are situated in Tibet. En route, visit Durnuk and Tangtse villages. Take a panoramic view of surroundings which are extremely soothing, watch the colorful birds. Return to Leh for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Leh - Lamayuru

After breakfast, proceed to Lamayuru. On the way, halt to visit the confluence of the rivers Indus and Zanskar, Alchi- Ladakh’s most visited monastery of Ladakh. It is the only monastery built on the flat ground in Ladakh, known for one of the best preserved ancient Gompas as well and the ruins of the 15th century Basgo Castle. After arriving in Lamayuru, complete the check-in formalities at your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Lamayuru - Kargil Sightseeing

In the morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the Lamayuru Gompa and Likir the Lamayur Gompa is located in Lamayuru village, visited by a large number of tourists for its lunar landscape. It is the earliest surviving monastery of Ladakh, known as Yung-drung or the Swastika. The monastery has a small temple devoted to Avalokiteshwara.

Later proceed to Kargil. En-route visit the well-known monolithic rock -cut statue of Maitreya Buddha in Mulbekh village. This 8 m high statue dates back to 1st century B C. On arriving in Kargil by evening, check-in your hotel for staying overnight.

Day 11: Kargil - Srinagar

After early morning breakfast, drive to Srinagar. En-route, visit Drass- known as the second coldest place on earth, often called ‘the Gateway to Ladakh’. Drive past Zojila pass and Sonamarg. After arriving in Srinagar, get transferred to the airport for your onward journey with Sweet and Happy Memories.
